Best Friends Forever Poems

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

It’s true that we should never take our friends for granted. But be clear about who your friends really are.

They aren’t those people you hang out with from time to time and who then won’t get in contact until you happen to run into them again.

In the times of social websites where the more ‘friends’ you have on your friends list, the better and more popular you supposedly are, the real meaning of friendship can be forgotten.

True friends are always there for us – no matter what happens. You know that a real friend can be relied on when you really need them. Of course events will come up in our lives that mean we may not be in close contact for a while, but that doesn’t mean our closest friends are not in our thoughts.

So how can you let a friend know how much they mean to you? It’s nice to remind our best friends from time to time how treasured they are.

It’s too easy to just assume or take for granted that your best pal will always be there, but if you don’t take the time to nurture your relationships, they will inevitably suffer.

One day it may just happen that your friend comes to believe that you’ve grown apart, that they never hear from you anymore, and that maybe they get more support from their boyfriend or girlfriend, or a new friend they’ve made.

Before you know it, that friendship you always thought would be around is slipping away. So don’t let that happen! The best part is you don’t need a big bank account to impress your friends with expensive gifts. A sweet and easy way of expressing your affection is through a poem.

Here are a couple of possible verses to get you started;

Best friends forever poems:

We’ve shared so much together like best friends do
From laughs to tears and crazy times and the awful moments too
There’s nothing that beats knowing that you’re always there for me
I hope you know I’m here for you too
You make the best company.

You can add a personal touch by including some things that make your friendship unique, such as;

We’ve grown up together and love the same things
You know I hate sad movies and can’t stand it if I don’t win
Times won’t always be perfect but I want you to know
You can always count on me
Wherever you go

Poetry doesn’t have to be ‘great’ poetry to get your message across. Your best friend will love that you’ve taken the trouble to show how much your friendship means to you. Don’t forget, boyfriends or girlfriends will come and go, but best friends are never easily replaced.

If you share the same interests, write about that. Maybe you love the same bands or your friend has helped you when you’ve had family troubles.

There are many reasons friends stick together and chief among them is the mutual appreciation and respect each has for the other. Friends have the power to halve your troubles, they add to your joys and successes and hold a mirror up to who you are.

Don’t risk losing those ‘golden’ friendships, the long-lasting kind that are based on a history of sharing life’s ups and downs, because without them we lose a part of ourselves. If a little poetry can help brighten your friend’s day, then it’s a moment well spent!

Poem To Say Im Sorry

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

We have all been there, a fight or argument ensues, voices are raised, and things are said that really aren’t meant—well you might think you meant them, but your partner doesn’t, they want an apology. In the end of it all, it doesn’t really matter if you were right or wrong or if your sweetie was right or wrong. What you now face is how to say you’re sorry. A romantic poem  to say Im sorry is always a good idea.

Okay, we know, you are saying to yourself, “I’m no poet,” or “what’s a poem?” No one is asking you to be a poet like Byron, but with a little effort, you could try to make a short rhyme. Let’s change “short” to “little,” because with most of you out there, we know that “short” is a one-sentence poem—you will need a “little” more than that.

To write your poem, not the ones below, think about your spouse or partner and what they mean to you. Think really hard and, yes, we know, you love their curvy figure or handsome stance and all that stuff, but try to leave the sexy stuff out of your poem.

Next, don’t think about the argument itself and try to write a poem about it. You won’t get real far with that and end up with another fight. Finally, don’t type your poem on a computer and print it out. Yes, you can practice your poem and make changes for ease on the computer, but when you’ve got it right—handwrite it!

Your wife, husband or sweetie will love you forever for anything handwritten and you can bet that years from now when you are both cleaning out the attic, your poem will most likely be pressed in a book, or if they are really crazy about you—laminated FOREVER, with many copies! Let’s take a look at a good example of a “little” romantic poem to say Im sorry.

When I think of what you mean to me,
And how much that you do,
I know when I’ve been not so nice,
Especially to you.
I want you to be my sweetheart,
Forever—at any cost.
I apologize for what I said,
Without you, I’d be lost.

After that, a simple handwritten, “I love you,” will work. It’s not hard to think of ways to say you’re sorry in a romantic poem and we’ve only given you the basics here. If you really want to wow your sweetie with the intensity of how much they mean to you, do try to say something about your relationship. Here’s another example:

I love your hair, your nose, your eyes,
I know you best, I know your wise.
I know you know when I am wrong,
I’m sorry and apologize.
If I could pick out just one day,
To tell you what is true,
It would be the day I write this down,
With a simple, heartfelt, I love you.

This can really touch any heart because you are mentioning how much you love their attributes, how wise they are, and that you know that they know, that pretty much—you are wrong.

Remember, when writing a romantic poem to say Im sorry, try not to think of how your partner might look like her Aunt Dot or his Uncle Fred in twenty years. In your heart, you know you love them or you wouldn’t be with them, right? Even if you can’t answer this last question with total sincerity, if you do need to apologize, do it in a poem—they’ll love you forever for just trying.

Funny Goodbye Sample Letter/Poem

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

In certain situations, saying goodbye can be a very tough experience. Mainly because we notice their presence through their absence, and we realize what we did not when they were present.

Human beings have the tendency of behaving with the famous saying: “you don’t know what you have until you loose it”. Many people who say goodbye don’t have this in mind when taking that action and end up realizing that they actually miss that person when time passes by.

That is when they also notice that the more time we spend with a person, the more our life and personality gets molded with their own. This leads us to see the power that relationships are capable of producing in the life of a human being.

In a intimate relationship, long term distance can be a synonym of emotional agony. “I miss you” are the feelings that revolve around us while time itself turns into a silent and desperate call for the presence of our significant other.

The following is a short and funny goodbye sample letter/poem that can give an idea of what many people go through in a similar situation of saying goodbye because of long distance and time:

My two eyes are red, my feelings are blue,
I can’t sleep in bed, cause I will miss you.

If you don’t miss me, then something is wrong,
cause my heart is sweet; that’s were you belong.

Your distance is far, my passion is close,
both feelings are hard, and make my chest choke.

My Goodbye hurts today, because your farewell is tomorrow,
but tomorrow’s farewell is nothing, compared to today’s sorrow.

Goodbye sample letters are not easily to write because each situation is different, however, the above poem can be able to fit in many cases since it has a general point of view.
