Date Questions To Ask
If you ever have been on a blind date you know how hard it is to get to know someone from scratch. The first few moments can be quite awkward while you are trying to figure out what to talk about.
Question and answer sessions can be too clinical if you are not careful though, especially if you only ask questions where yes and no suffice for answers.
If you are going to start asking questions then make sure they help the conversation start. Instead of just “Where do you work?” try asking “Where do you work and what are you job tasks?”
This way the person has to talk some about the duties they have at work. Hopefully this will lead them to ask you the same thing and the conversation can begin.
The best thing to do is to formulate some questions in your mind. No need to carry a list with you unless perhaps you are going speed dating than a list would actually be fine.
But for a regular blind date or date for that fact the questions being in your head is enough.
A sample of fun questions to ask on a date are provided below to get you started on thinking of what you want to ask.
Date Questions To Ask:
1. Where do you live and do you like living there? If you are on a blind date this is information you probably do not know ahead of time.
2. Where do you work and what does your job entail? This introduces the person with a question that they have to give an in-depth answer to, not just yes or no.
3. Is there anything you would like to know about me? This opens the door to some interesting conversation.
4. What is your educational background and how has it helped you in your job? This takes a conversational answer rather than a quick one.
5. Where were you born and when did you move here? This is especially helpful if the person has an accent that is not typical for the area you are living in.
6. Are you looking for only fun or do you want a long-term relationship? This will let you know if the two of you are looking for the same thing.
7. Do you believe in the institution of marriage or is that concept for relationships old fashion to you? This will let you know if the person is on the same page on this idea with you.
8. What qualities would you want in a marriage partner?
9. Do you like children and are you planning on having some one day? This is an important point that a couple must agree on for the successful long-term relationship that involves marriage.
10. What do you do in your leisure time to relax and have fun? Why do you find this enjoyable? This will show what you have in common.
11. What accomplishment are you proudest of in your life? Hopefully they will ask this question back to you.
12. Are you a religious person? This may or may not be important to you depending on your own religious views.
13. What are you political views? Be careful about how you discuss this though in case your views different, you do not want an argument to happen.
14. What genre of music do you most like to listen to? You may or may not agree on this one.
15. Do you enjoy reading books or do you just wait for the movie of it to come out? This speaks to how intellectual their life might be.
16. Are you a lover of animals or are they just pests that you like to avoid? Most animal lovers are kind-hearted people.
17. If you were to get reincarnated what or who would you want to come back as? This explores the imagination a bit.
18. Is there anything that you have ever done in your life that you wish you could have a “do over” on? This gives you information on whether the person has any regrets or not.
19. How would your best buddy describe you? This may give you further insight to their personality.
20. If you came into a large some of money how would you spend it? This tells you how sensible they are.
Now that you have an idea of what questions you can ask on a blind date, or any type date for that matter, think of some questions of your own. Remember that the questions should lead to some fun conversations.
